It is now just over a year since Red Hill Special Needs School received their new bus, thanks to the generosity of Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology via the AMA Queensland Foundation.

Principal Pamela Stack says that having the mini bus has enabled individual classes to engage in regular programs which support and enhance curriculum. "Being able to access venues such as community libraries and gyms is vital for the development of the children's cognitive, physical and social skills", she said.

Venturing much further than local libraries and gyms, classes have also attended venues both on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, as well as going on camps throughout the year. "Having the bus has made it possible for groups to extend the range of activities, and consequently learning experiences, in which classes can participate during their camps. The children were delighted with their trip to Sea World as part of a recent camp. They especially loved the dolphin show, laughing at the funny penguins, and getting up close and personal touching stingrays and starfish and watching the sharks”, Pamela says.
