Appeal for mental health and suicide prevention
Success! Your request has been sent and a representative will be in contact soon.
Give the gift of hope to those experiencing mental ill-health.
Almost one in two Australians will have experienced a mental health condition in their lifetime, and sadly, every day on average, more than two Queenslanders take their own lives. For some members of our community, the risk factors increase for suicide, and this includes medical professionals.
For isolated, vulnerable and underserved Queenslanders, the barriers to support can be higher. We also know that stigma relating to mental health challenges can prevent people from seeking help.
That’s why the AMA Queensland Foundation is asking for your support for this appeal focused on mental health and suicide prevention, extending our 2025 Christmas Appeal.
Target of $50,000
Your donation can help raise much-needed funds for improved services, and your attention, can open important conversations that help reduce stigma and save lives. In the words of Dr Brock Chisholm, first Director-General of the World Health Organization:
“Without mental health, there can be no true physical health.”
Please give generously to support much-needed mental health and suicide prevention services in Queensland.
