New Foundation Chair Dr Eleanor Chew

At the May AGM, Dr Eleanor Chew OAM was elected to the Foundation Board, and at the following Board meeting, was appointed as the new AMA Queensland Foundation Chair. Dr Chew brings extensive experience to the Foundation Board and has held significant leadership roles within AMA Queensland, including most recently as Chair of the AMA Queensland Board. She is currently also a Director on the AMA Queensland Education and Training Institute Board.

Dr Chew has over 40 years’ experience as a GP, working in Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Canberra in a variety of practice settings. In 2019, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to medicine in the field of general practice.

A long-time Foundation supporter, Dr Chew is excited to make a strong contribution.
